About the Artist

My family and I live in

south central Montana. I grew up

in rural Worden Montana and

have had a passion for all things

horses since I can remember.

In 1992, with the encouragement

of family and friends, I began

Sunrise Arts Studio. Since then

promoting my graphite drawing

and note card designs have been

a beloved hobby.

I love to draw animals and it seems that I have worked with animals forever. As a veterinary assistant I can really appreciate the individual personalities of the small animal patients. The knowledge and experience that I have gained with companion animals has been invaluable. Through the years, I have enjoyed creating custom portrait work for the clients and contacts at the veterinary hospital.

I find myself spending more time at the art studio devloping new art work. I own two horses and manage our family stable in Worden. I really enjoy studying dressage and teaching horsemanship to beginners and 4-H groups. Drawing horses is especially inspiring for me. My special gift for drawing is to "bring to life" the very character of each subject that I draw. That specialty has become creating the eyes that "talk" to you through the paper.
